Summary
Roy Peires is a hospitality entrepreneur and philanthropic advocate whose work has combined business leadership with long-term charitable engagement. Since the 1980s, he has been involved in the development of what became the IDILIQ Group, alongside a sustained commitment to supporting charitable initiatives across healthcare, community services, and social welfare.
Over several decades, Roy Peires has helped establish and support a range of charitable programs through the IDILIQ Foundation, a charitable organization focused on improving quality of life for individuals and families facing serious health challenges, disability, and social hardship.
One of the earliest organizations supported by Roy Peires was Cudeca, a charity that provides specialised palliative care and companionship for patients with advanced stages of terminal cancer and their families. Among other contributions, Roy donated the reception area of Cudeca’s hospice facility and continues to support the organization through fundraising events, material donations, and logistical support.
Through the IDILIQ Foundation, Roy Peires has supported numerous charitable initiatives across Spain and internationally. One of the most significant projects funded by the foundation was the construction of the F. Cruz Dias–ADIMI Care Centre, a €1.6 million facility in Mijas that provides services to individuals with cognitive and developmental disabilities. The centre offers early care services, child and youth support programs, occupational services, residential care for individuals with severe conditions, and a range of therapeutic resources.
The foundation also collaborates with organizations such as the Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer (AECC) in Málaga, Afesol, Fuensocial, and other local charities supporting healthcare access, mental health services, disability support, and community welfare programs.
A key initiative developed through the foundation is Kind Holidays, a program designed to provide complimentary accommodation at hotels and resorts to families facing significant challenges. The program supports families with seriously ill or terminally ill children, bereavement charities, and military families dealing with trauma or injury.
Since its inception, Kind Holidays has provided holiday accommodation to thousands of individuals through partnerships with numerous charitable organizations. The program was initially launched in support of Give Us Time, a charity that organizes holidays for members of the armed forces and their families. In later years the initiative expanded to support children’s hospices, bereavement charities, and organizations assisting families facing serious medical conditions.
Kind Holidays also aims to serve as a model for the wider hospitality sector. Roy Peires has encouraged other hoteliers and hospitality organizations to adopt similar programs, demonstrating how unused accommodation capacity can be used to support families during difficult periods.
In addition to initiatives in Spain, Roy Peires has supported international charitable work, including long-term involvement with Christel House, an organization dedicated to providing education for children in underserved communities around the world.
Through both business initiatives and philanthropic efforts, Roy Peires continues to advocate for practical ways that organizations can contribute to their communities. His work reflects an ongoing commitment to hospitality, social responsibility, and community support.
